South Park demographics
According to the American Community Survey Data from 2005-9, South Park has a total of 1,309 households (with 4,011 residents). Of those, 60% are families (with 40% consisting of married-couple families), 32% households contain minors, and 17% have one or more people 65 years and over. 80% of our residents have lived in the same house longer than one year.
55.5% of the people are native to this area , while 44.5% are foreign born. Out of almost 2,000 foreign born South Park residents, 61% are not U.S. citizens, and 63.3% were born in Latin America (with 28% being born in Asia). 57 % of our neighbors speak a language other than English at home, with 35% speaking Spanish, and 19% speaking Asian and Pacific Islander languages.
The majority of South Park students are enrolled in Elementary school (grades 1-8). Out of almost 3,000 adults surveyed, 27% are high school graduates, 23% have had some college, and 20% have less than a 9th grade education.
