-Think Green Recycle Challenge (Dagmar Cronn): South Park came close to, but did not win the $40,000 first place prize. South Park will receive a portion of the $10,000 prize to be split between the three runner ups. A celebration party will be held June 13, 11am (in North Seattle – can ride with Dagmar Cronn)
– July SPNA Potluck (Dagmar Cronn): The next SPNA meeting will be the biannual community potluck dinner rather than a meeting for business. Potluck is held to bring South Park community members together. Potluck will start at 6:00 pm at the South Park Neighborhood Center (8201 10th Ave S, Seattle WA 98108).
-Transportation Committee Chair appointment (Dagmar Cronn): Dan Bentler was appointed by the transportation committee to be chair of the transportation committee. Motion was approved by membership to approve this appointment.
-Transportation Committee Report (Dan Bentler and Jim Curtin, SDOT): Dan Bentler reported on work with SDOT on the need for roadway improvements, especially in the northwestern industrial area of South Park. Jim Curtin, SDOT, reported on his review of south park road conditions. SDOT has identified certain roads in South Park to repair (including improved drainage, resurfacing and repairing road base. SDOT will make available a map of these proposed improvements.
-Lower Duwamish Waterway Cleanup Plan Public Comment period to EPA: The public comment period is ending this Thursday, June 13th for the Cleanup Plan for the Lower Duwamish Waterway Superfund Site. Comments can be submitted online: http://www.resolv.org/site-ldpc/. -South Park Library – Beatriz Pascual-Wallace: Copies of the Seattle Public Library’s “Where Do You Want To Go?” Summer Reading for Adults navigator were provided
-Police Report (Betsy McFeely – Representative to Southwest Precinct Advisory Council): Community members are welcome to send concerns/issues to Betsy McFeely and she will relay/liaise with police.
Local Project Updates
Terminal 117 Update (David Jenkins, Port of Seattle): Project has received all approvals and construction is starting. Dave Jenkins summarized project construction preparations and initial work. An open house will be held this Thursday, June 13 from 4pm to 7pm at the project’s field office in South Park (8613
14th Ave South). Food and drinks will be provided. Remember that questions or comments on the project can be submitted by calling the HOTLINE 1-877-999-8117. AECOM representatives demonstrated interactive live project web map that shows project progress and soil and air sampling results.
Clean Air Strategy Update (Janice Gedlund, Port of Seattle): The public comment period for the Northwest Ports Clean Air Strategy, Draft 2013 Update is opening today, June 11, and closing July 26, 2013. Comments can be submitted to email@example.com. Two open houses will be held. The first will be held on June 26 from 1pm to 2:30 at Port of Seattle Commission Chambers, Pier 69 (2711 Alaskan Way). The second will be held on June 27 from 6pm to 7:30pm at the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center, Delridge Neighborhood, West Seattle (4408 Delridge Way SW). The draft plan as well as Puget Sound Maritime Air Emissions Inventory can be viewed at: http://www.portseattle.org/Environmental/Air/Seaport-Air-Quality/Pages/NWPorts-Clean-Air.aspx.
Sea City Light Project (Mary Junttila): Two new transmission lines will be installed to cross the Duwamish River. Two poles/towers will be placed in South Park on Dallas Street near 16th Avenue and 17th Avenue intersection. Installation is estimated to be conducted in 2015.

Motion approved to conduct vote by acclamation.

Vote on SPNA Bylaws and Articles of Amendment
Articles of Amendment and Bylaws were voted on and approved. Addition of a Table of Contents and date of adoption will be added to the documents. The Articles of Amendment will be submitted to the Washington Secretary of State.
